Rice milled just before it reaches the table smells different. Milled to order and shipped straight from our own paddies in Kawagoe — rice that brings a story to your menu.
Why choose Komeyoshi
Rice milled just before serving smells and shines different. We mill after receiving your order and label the milling date on every delivery.
Our strengths
Shipped straight from our paddies in Kawagoe, Saitama with zero middlemen. Production records from planting to milling are public — a grower your guests can see.
What dishes it suits
Chewy, balanced Sai no Kizuna for onigiri, bento, meat and fried dishes. Glossy, sweet Koshihikari for set meals, grilled fish, and sushi — dishes where rice is the star.
How we differ from other rice
Even the same "rice" varies in freshness, transparency, and rarity. Here is Komeyoshi next to typical distributed rice.
| Komeyoshi | Typical distributed rice | |
|---|---|---|
| When milled | Milled after you order (date labeled) | Pre-milled, stored and distributed |
| Origin & grower | Our own Kawagoe paddies; grower & fields public | Often only a region label |
| Distribution | Direct from grower (no middlemen) | Through collectors and wholesalers |
| Variety | Saitama-only Sai no Kizuna + Koshihikari | Mostly generic varieties / blends |
| Production records | Public from planting to milling | Usually not disclosed |
| Small lots | From 30kg (one bag) | Larger quantities typical |
"Typical distributed rice" refers to general industry tendencies, not any specific company.
Small lots welcome
1 lot = 30kg (one rice bag)
Want to start small? Order from just 30kg (one rice bag), milled to order. Buy only what you can use, always at freshly-milled quality.
We'll suggest a comfortable quantity based on your monthly usage and delivery frequency.
We care for the fields — and the environment around them
Great rice starts with healthy water and soil. Beyond the paddies, we clean the irrigation channels that feed them by hand — caring for the water and the environment. Context your guests can trust.
